Only old growth here! No tree stumps or fairy rings. Virgin forest as mother nature intended. Fairy rings or family groups of trees are simply trees that have grown up from the living remains of the stump of a fallen redwood. Since they grow out of the perimeter, they are organized in a circle. This forest has never been logged, there are no rings here. Privately held untouched forests of this size are rare. This is one of the states largest remaining stands of privately held virgin redwood and the largest remaining stands of old growth redwood in San Mateo County. |
